About the role
This position will be filled at either the Operations Specialist 3 or 4 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
Responsibilities
- Support readiness and operational compliance programs through coordination of program activities, documentation, reporting, and process implementation.
- Assist with budget tracking, resource planning, procurements, and placing procurements.
- Maintain and update procedures, operational documentation, and program records.
- Support self-assessments, incident investigations, and assist in preparing DOE reports.
- Support and maintain all program documentation.
- Provide input and coordinate readiness and operational compliance programs.
- Manage budget, resource planning, procurement, and procurement tracking activities.
- Develop and implement procedures, documentation systems, and process improvements.
- Oversee assessments, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with Laboratory and DOE requirements.
- Develop and maintain program procedures.
Requirements
- Experience and demonstrated skill in technical writing and ability to edit and write comprehensive and detailed reports in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to assume responsibilities and to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated proficiency with software applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Ability to learn LANL internal software applications such as Oracle, ILINK, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with logistics, scheduling, and organization of information.
- Experience in an operating nuclear facility utilizing formality of operations principles.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum Job Requirements: Experience and demonstrated skill in technical writing and ability to edit and write comprehensive and detailed reports in a timely manner. - Education Requirement for the lower-level position: Position requires a bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable.
- Education Requirement for the higher-level position: Position requires a bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected.
- Desired Qualifications: Familiarity with the LANL Readiness Program or have the nuclear background and readiness experience. Readiness Policy documents P115 Series documents. Experience participating in a Management Self-Assessments, Contractor Readiness Assessment or other documented formal reviews/assessments. Demonstrated success in developing program activities, goals and objectives, creating program evaluation tools and evaluating the effectiveness of the program. Demonstrated ability to make improvements to the Program and execute changes to meet requirements while supporting mission parameters. Communicates effectively with co-workers, superiors, and DOE.
Pay
$87,800 - $143,000 for Operations Specialist 3
$106,400 - $176,000 for Operations Specialist 4
Schedule
On occasion, team members may be expected to work outside of regular work hours to support the project schedule.
Work Location
The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM.
