Operations Support Specialist 4
About the role
Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Operations Support Specialist 4 to support ongoing operations in Los Alamos, NM. The selected individual will provide leadership and mentoring towards the project construction teams, coordinate with the functional organizations, and recommend improvement opportunities to senior personnel within the project organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and mentoring towards the project construction teams
- Cookordinate with the functional organizations
- Recommend improvement opportunities to senior personnel within the project organization
- Render expert opinions towards the execution of construction field work activities
- Provide recommendations towards project design, work control, and construction teams in specific areas of expertise
- Provides independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized expertise and provides guidance to project teams in delivering results on projects of complex, high-technology nature
- Interfaces with management personnel and customer representatives
- Reviews work quality, provides other compliance and/or quality-related support functions including development of enhanced employee training (mock-ups), delivery of facility-level enhanced employee training, including the tracking and scheduling of enhanced employee training
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree and minimum of eight (8) years related experience or combination of education and relevant experience
- Eight (8) or more years’ experience in the construction or maintenance field and 5 years of experience supporting the DOE mission is highly desired
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance
- DOE Construction experience
- CAT II Nuclear Facility experience
- DOE Plutonium Facility
Qualifications
- Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred
- Previous DOE/NNSA work experience
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Good organizational skills
- Can collaborate with others effectively
- Previous qualifications as a Field Work Supervisor or Responsible (Line) Manager, and previous work experience at LANL or in a DOE Haz Cat II Plutonium facility are preferred
Work Schedule
4/10’s (10 hours/day; four days per week).
