Readiness Program Specialist - Deployment Manager
About the role
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Readiness Program Specialist to perform as the Deployment Manager, working at the 567th Cyberspace Operations Group (COG), Command Support Staff, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Lackland Air Force Base (AFB), San Antonio, Texas.
This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V2007. Depending on the type of position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period or 2-year trial period.
Salary ranges from $75,776 to $98,514 based on experience.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will serve as the Deployment Manager and principal readiness advisor for the 567 COG, providing comprehensive program management and end-to-end oversight of personnel and equipment readiness for four subordinate Cyberspace Operations Squadrons.
Key responsibilities include directing force posturing, deployment preparation, and readiness assessments to support Air Force, Joint, and National cyberspace mission requirements, providing authoritative advisory services to internal leadership and external headquarters, and conducting data-driven reviews and trend analyses to optimize global force laydown.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Top Secret/SCI” Security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position
Qualifications
- Knowledge of military readiness, force generation, and deployment management operations
- Knowledge of Department of Defense and Joint Force posturing principles, expeditionary concepts, and deployment lifecycle management
- Knowledge of overarching operational planning and force execution directives
- Knowledge of higher headquarters regulations, policies, and regulatory guidelines regarding force laydown, mission essential tasks, and readiness reporting
- Skill in conducting program and data analysis
- Skill in gathering, evaluating, and interpreting statistical data, unit readiness metrics, and trend reports
- Ability to develop practical courses of action and recommendations for unit leadership
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidance
- Ability to interpret DoD, Air Force, and DCIPS readiness regulations to evaluate organizational compliance, develop standardized unit operating procedures, and advise leadership on operational impacts
Skills
Highly desired cyber experience is preferred.
