This role operates administratively in a Residential Care Facility (RCF) Setting, which provides services for people with mental illness and other disabilities. Rather than institutionalizing individuals, the RCF setting offers them the opportunity to live and receive services in a way that honors their abilities. RCF Supervisor/Med Managers provide leadership to a team focused on delivering the best care possible, empowering people to reach individual achievement across the spectrum of life.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Workforce Development: Recruit, supervise, schedule, and develop Direct Support Professionals through coaching, training, team meetings, and active leadership. Ensure staffing meets the needs of individuals served and complies with DIA staffing ratio requirements.
- Operational & Resource Management: Oversee daily operations by managing vehicle usage, individual financial processes in collaboration with the Representative Payee Team, medication check-ins, appointment coordination, and community partnership initiatives to support quality service delivery.
- Medication Management: Safely administer medications, monitor and evaluate medication needs, complete required charting and assessments, manage weekly medication changes, and prepare appointment materials while ensuring compliance with medication administration standards.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies. Ensure accurate, timely documentation of incidents, investigations, medication records, and service delivery.
- Person-Centered Advocacy: Foster an environment that promotes dignity, independence, and self-determination by advocating for individual choice, respecting each person's rights, and delivering compassionate, person-centered support.
Requirements

- Strong communication abilities for effective interaction with the team and individuals served.
- Confidence to balance boldness and humility, knowing when to advocate and when to follow leadership.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of automobile insurance covering $100,000/$300,000/$50,000 liability.
- Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Iowa Medication Manager Certification, or ability to obtain it.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Physical Demands
- May require lifting up to 35 pounds; assistance or equipment required for heavier lifting.
- May require prolonged sitting and working at a computer for up to eight hours.
- May require frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
- May require prolonged standing for up to eight hours.
- Must wear hearing and eye protection in required areas.
- Must have the ability to see objects/persons at a distance and perform close work such as reading typed or handwritten material.
- Must have the ability to hear conversations in both quiet and noisy environments, determine the direction of sounds, and distinguish between bells, buzzers, beeps, horns, etc.
- Must have the ability to communicate through speech.
- Must be able to drive and transport for service provision as needed.
- Must remain awake during working hours, if applicable.
