RBM Chassis Line Supervisor

Position Summary

The Chassis Line Supervisor will manage the workflow, output, and schedule of the department. They will continuously improve production processes and team member's development. The Chassis Line Supervisor will update the production manager and other department heads of your departments progress on given project and exchange parts as needed. Also, they will write performance reviews and work with HR to address worker related issues as they occur.

Essential Functions

  • Writes performance reviews and work with HR to address worker related issues as they occur.
  • Inspects reviews of trucks to confirm each truck meets its specs and quality standards.
  • Manages inventory of tools and parts, creating POs as necessary and keep department running smoothly.
  • Keeps everyone safe by enforcing all employees to follow strict safety guidelines and have a clean work environment.
  • Safeguards Company goals and objectives through consistent support and application of Company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge, Education, And/or Experience: High School Diploma/GED required. Extensive experience with Chassis Line department required. Extensive hands-on fire truck-product knowledge from either a manufacturing or fire department perspective preferred.
  • Skills: Language - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to use effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Math - Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Computer - Ability to perform intermediate PC functions including spreadsheet formulas and functions, queries, tables, merges and special reports. A - Strong mechanical and technical aptitude. Able to lead and supervise a team of an employee’s effectively and with a positive attitude. Ability to identify quality issues and recognize changes within one’s production process and make the needed adjustments. Ability to maintain detailed, accurate records. Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines. Must be able to professionally work with customers, vendors, and external business leaders. Requires responsibility, ability to work well as a team member, and to work well independently. You recognize the importance and adherence to all safety policies in order to promote a safe working environment, for everyone at the organization.
  • Qualifications- Other: Must be able to obtain a forklift certification.
