RBL 5 Laboratory Research Technician

Responsibilities
- Conducts bench and animal research involving molecular and cellular biology in BSL2 and BSL3 environments.
- Works with small laboratory animals (ferrets and rodents, potentially other species).
- Analyzes, prepares, and presents data.
- Performs virology, microbiology, and molecular biology techniques.
- Maintains tissue culture lines and generates primary cell cultures.
- Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
- Aids other research personnel in performing research protocols and operating laboratory equipment.
- Maintains thorough documentation of laboratory results.
- Orders and maintains laboratory supplies.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
- Must have normal visual ability and no hearing impairments.
- Must possess adequate manual dexterity for sensitive laboratory work in a BSL3/ABSL3 environment.
- Frequent movement to various places, occasional heavy equipment use, prolonged standing or sitting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- One year of relevant experience.
Skills
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a cooperative team member.
- Strict adherence to BSL2/BSL3 procedures.
