Job Overview
The Raw Receiving Supervisor plays a key role in executing assigned raw receiving tasks. This includes setting up, operating, cleaning, and troubleshooting production equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision of Quality Control activities across all shifts, ensuring accurate and timely laboratory results for inspection, testing, and receiving of products.
- Oversee raw product testing, maintain compliance with COA requirements, and coordinate quality investigations with the laboratory team.
- Maintain raw receiving operations with a focus on maintaining quality standards through accurate record keeping and proper document control.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, NYSDAM, PMO, FSMA, SQF, and EEOC standards.
- Participate actively as a member of the Food Safety & Quality Team and oversee Equipment Cleaning Verification and auditing of raw operations.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance program for raw lab equipment and infrastructure.
- Supervise and evaluate job performance of all Raw Milk Receivers, setting measurable and attainable goals with individual accountability.
- Manage all employment transactions for assigned shifts, including hiring decisions, performance-based evaluations, corrective actions, and separations.
- Provide training to milk receiver personnel to maintain compliance with SOP guidelines.
- Aid in coordination between departments to minimize time and product loss while increasing problem-solving effectiveness.
- Notify production supervision and processors of corrections needed and verify implementation through proper testing and silo management plans.
- Document and communicate findings across all relevant departments.
- Investigate new methods to prevent product loss, improve quality, and increase operational efficiency.
- Assist in development of benchmarks and KPIs to enhance milk receiver performance and guide department efforts toward established goals.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and maximize facility productivity.
- Monitor the status of raw receiving operations with attention to quality standards, proper testing protocols, and silo management.
- Oversee and assist with raw product testing for received or shipped materials.
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all raw lab equipment, gaskets, air blows, hoses, and related infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality.
Min. Qualifications
- A minimum of GED or High School Diploma is required.
- An AS/AAS degree in science related discipline (biology, food processing, chemistry, dairy management, etc.) is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of dairy or related experience is required.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
