Responsibilities

  • Promote the Recordati oncology portfolio and identify key accounts to establish partnerships with key Health Care Professionals (HCPs), prescribing physicians, hospital pharmacists and other key stakeholders in the assigned territory.
  • Build sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and leverage customer insights to develop strategies and solutions that facilitate access to the Recordati portfolio in hospitals.
  • Collaborate with local HCPs to ensure appropriate prescribing of Recordati medications.
  • Grow sales volume and market share of Recordati’s rare disease products within a specified geographic territory.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of relevant disease states, RRD’s products, the competitive landscape, and evolving market trends within the U.S. healthcare sector.
  • Establish strong relationships with practitioners as a trusted advisor and build productive relationships with targeted physicians (including Medical Oncologists, Hematologists, Hematopathologists), key accounts, and other stakeholders (specialty pharmacies, advocacy groups, etc.).
  • Identify and execute opportunities to sell Recordati’s products through various interactions (in person, group meetings, speaker programs, tumor boards, Ad Boards, exhibits, conferences, etc.).
  • Develop territory business plans with short, medium, and long-term objectives aligned to region and national objectives.
  • Analyze sales reports and develop territory business plans to increase sales; utilize available resources to drive sales with key accounts.
  • Drive resource allocation for the greatest return on investment and track implementation of plans and achievement of objectives using company systems and own processes.
  • Achieve or exceed market share and volume goals and develop long-term customer relationships to foster compliant collaboration aimed at improving patient care.
  • Represent Recordati Rare Diseases at industry functions and events to position RRD as a trusted advisor and committed partner.
  • Work cross-functionally to address and resolve concerns related to product quality, access, reimbursement, distribution, etc.
  • Maintain accountability and strict adherence to RRD, FDA, and OIG guidelines at all times, acting in full compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies including adverse events/pharmacovigilance responsibilities.

Education And Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ pharmaceutical experience.
  • Rare diseases experience highly preferred; niche/specialty experience required.
  • Oncology experience highly desirable with established customer relationships and a track record of success.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; coursework or degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or Medicine strongly preferred.
  • Strong track record of sales success within the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industries.
  • Experience executing within regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, OIG, and PhRMA guidelines).
  • Prior consultative sales experience required.
  • Small-company and/or start-up experience highly desirable.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Proven record of success in the rare disease/orphan drug market/oncology.
  • Ability to cover a larger geography without a co-promote partner or territory mirror.
  • Solid understanding of specific disease states and ability to communicate in-depth product knowledge to healthcare professionals.
  • Highly organized with strong planning and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication combined with strong business acumen and presentation skills.
  • Strong business analysis skills utilizing CRM and other data sources.
  • Working familiarity with FDA, DEA, and OIG regulations and requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with ability to articulate the value proposition of products.
  • Teamwork, proactive collaboration, innovation/creativity, and interaction with other teams.
  • Mindset of compliance and accountability.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.

Work Environment

  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and smartphones.
  • Actively moves throughout the workday via car or plane, entering offices, hospitals, medical centers, etc.
  • May be required to attend meetings including travel out of state over weekends and nights.
  • Must be able to freely operate and travel by car and train/plane; valid driver’s license and means of transportation required.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
  • Position is primarily sedentary; may occasionally move throughout office, meeting, or event locations.
  • Regularly operates a computer, telephone, and other office productivity equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Occasionally required to move or transport items weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without accommodations.

Location

Position will be located in a designated territory in the U.S. with proximity to a major airport. Significant domestic travel (approximately 50%) is required to meetings and conferences; some occur over weekends, along with occasional international travel.

Pay

Annualized Base Pay Range: $148,000 – $203,500. Other types of pay: Eligible for an annual performance bonus. Bonus structure is non-discretionary and tied to company and individual results.
