Rapid Response Operations Director

Responsibilities

  • Identifies root causes of current challenges and provides corrective action.
  • Prepares, evaluates, and communicates the Parish (church & school) budgets, annual reports, profit & loss, balance sheet, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger.
  • Develops forecasts and monthly variance reports.
  • Reviews all reports with the Pastor and Principal (as applicable).
  • Ensures proper Archdiocesan best practices and internal controls are in place and may perform bookkeeping functions as needed.
  • Oversees purchasing, contract negotiations, vendor relationships, and banking activities.
  • Affords staff liaison to Parish Finance Council; supports School Board as applicable.
  • Coordinates capital campaign pledges and collections, fund raising events, pledge drives, Parish offertory collections, and stewardship.
  • Confirms that all federal, state, and local taxes are paid in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develops and manages the school economic model to assess the financial impact of initiatives.
  • Supports the Principal in developing the annual budget and forecasts school financials starting each fall.
  • Serves as a member of the School Financial Aid Committee.
  • Manages major repairs, renovations, and capital projects in accordance with Archdiocesan policies.
  • Manages custodial maintenance functions.
  • Responsible for Parish security, leasing, rental, use of Parish facilities, and acts as a liaison to the Pastoral Center and local government agencies.
  • Implements Archdiocesan Human Resources policies/practices; develops Parish specific job descriptions, manages payroll, and oversees the payment of salaries and benefits.
  • Oversees the management of the Parish office (as applicable).
  • Manages the Parish office staff and employee performance including conducting annual performance reviews as appropriate.
  • Oversees implementation of the guidelines and policies of volunteers.
  • Ensures a permanent Operations Director (OD) is placed at the Parishes towards the end of the assignment.
  • Directs/oversees preparation of publication of relevant information presented on the Sunday Bulletin.
  • Maintains information technology including but not limited to computers, internet, telephone, copiers, etc.
  • Manages Parish operational and financial records.
  • Manages Parish project plans; identifies needs and required action, tracks and communicates status, recognizes challenges to the plan, and adjusts as necessary, and identifies follow-up actions.
  • Organizes and facilitates staff meetings to ensure all necessary information is communicated to team members.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • MBA a plus.
  • Three years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, or related business.
  • Experience with a not-for-profit organization or in Church management a plus.
  • Must be practicing Catholic.
  • Knowledge and experience in Human Resources practices.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • UKG experience a plus.
  • Can be entrusted with highly confidential information.
