Ranger / Camp Host

About the Role

ELS is hiring for the position of Ranger / Camp Host in Urbanna, Virginia. This role involves patrolling the campground, ensuring guest safety, enforcing rules, and providing exceptional customer service in a resort environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the property for any issues or potential problems, ensuring the safety of guests and their belongings.
• Ensure the property is properly secured and guests comply with resort rules; respond to areas of concern and contact law enforcement if necessary.
• Monitor all incoming guests through the campground gate and validate access.
• Perform routine patrols, golf cart and rental inspections.
• Take camping reservations, check guests in and out, and sell day passes and items at the store.
• Prioritize guest safety and happiness.
• Perform on-call emergency service as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills, with the ability to use computer applications.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills to assess situations and resolve issues diplomatically.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills with a friendly demeanor.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

Qualifications

• Experience working in security and/or law enforcement, and/or working in an RV environment, is a benefit.
