Range Operations Inspector.

About the Role

Serves as the technical expert, exercising real-time command and control over the entire range and training area complex. Conducts range walks and performs detailed inspections of training land and facilities to assist units in the preparation of live fire/non-firing training, as required. Achieves mission accomplishment through working and coordination with military personnel and civilians.

Responsibilities

• Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, including a completed background investigation.
• Must pass a drug test and pre-employment physical.
• Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. issued driver license.
• Position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment.

Qualifications

Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories for current Department of Army Civilian Employees or those applying on time-limited assignments are eligible.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. If qualifying based on education, transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone—no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
