Ramp Safety Coordinator
About the role
Administrative position with responsibility for monitoring driver SOP and working with the department to ensure compliance in addition to maintaining & monitoring employee safety.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for SOP training for all new drivers and re-training of drivers
- Responsible for updating and maintaining all driver files
- Processing of all Port Authority/Customs identifications
- Ensure all State inspections, registrations and Insurance ID’s for trucks are current
- Responsible for ensuring all drivers adhere to A-1 Inspection procedures
- Assist the Ramp Safety Supervisor as needed and perform other clerical duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ safety/ramp experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and other computer applications
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large groups – must be flexible
- Bilingual a plus (English/Spanish)
Qualifications
Knowledge of safety and ramp operations, proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment.
