About the role

Track Assemblers will use mechanical aptitude and skills to build full track panels, turnouts and crossings, as well as build other rail components to customer specifications. Following instructions from blueprints, engineering change documents and work instructions, the operations will consist of the manual assembly, fabrication, grinding and fitting together rail components such as frogs, switch rods, switch points, guard rail, and gage plates for final trackwork assembly.

Responsibilities

• Manual assembly, fabrication, grinding, and fitting of rail components
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering change documents, and work instructions
• Use various hand and power tools and measuring devices to complete work
• Inspect rail using measuring devices and maintain strong attention to detail
• Complete production reports with accuracy

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education
• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with manufacturing environment and use of industrial equipment
• Experience using hand and power tools, measuring devices, gauges, calipers, etc.
• Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/32”
• Ability to read and write legibly

Qualifications

• Prior machine or grinder experience preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing or mechanical environment

Pay

Competitive starting pay with a $1.00 increase after 90 days, eligible $1.00 increase at 1 year, and quarterly production bonus of $200-$500.
