About the role

We are seeking Assemblers for our manufacturing facility located in the north of Bloomington/Normal, Illinois. The Assembler is responsible for efficiently assembling and packaging Brandt-manufactured products in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. This position includes assembly of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components to truck chassis, diagnostics, quality checks, and full functionality checks of trucks and equipment. The role ensures products are built accurately, safely, and on schedule while adhering to all safety protocols, production guidelines, and workplace policies.

Responsibilities

  • Work on and assemble Brandt products.
  • Handle, bundle, and stack finished goods.
  • Stencil, decal, and add material to finished products.
  • Accurately count and record material as required.
  • Move material as required.
  • Operate equipment in the machine department for short periods when needed.
  • Perform helper functions with thorough knowledge and understanding.
  • Complete set up on finished products under minimum supervision.
  • Perform all work required on tube repair.
  • Conduct final assembly on standard and direct drive augers, including adjusting sprockets, chains, and steady rests.
  • Unload material from load bars.
  • Perform PDI checks and settings on truck chassis and heavy equipment.
  • Install mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment on trucks and heavy equipment.
  • Conduct full functionality checks on installed equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues arising during functionality checks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ related experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with SOP development.
  • Must be reliable and work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical labor.
  • Ability to read tape measures.
  • Mechanic trade qualification (Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, Truck/Transport) preferred.
  • ASE certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics and calibration work.
  • Diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
