Railcar Maintenance Technician – Lewisville, TX

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, repair, and maintain diesel locomotives
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Work with a variety of tools and equipment in diverse working conditions
• Identify mechanical issues in diesel engines, air brakes, and running gear
• Use hand tools and power tools to repair or replace defective parts
• Conduct routine inspections and servicing
• Analyze and resolve both electrical and mechanical problems
• Follow all railroad safety and operating rules and regulations
• Work in various conditions including adverse weather and train yard environments

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED and vocational training in related field
• Prior experience working with diesel locomotives or in a similar mechanical role
• Familiarity with diesel engines, air brakes, and locomotive components
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
• Capable of lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and handling the physical demands of the job
• Committed to maintaining a safe work environment and following safety protocols
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Capable of collaborating with team members and supervisors
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions and work rules
• Fluent in English (both verbal and written)
