Competencies

The mission of the Rail Services Technician position is to support the design, manufacture, maintenance, and supply of equipment and components for integrated transport systems.

Functions and responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks on rail vehicles and related equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to rail vehicle systems and components.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Document all work performed and maintain accurate records.

Training required

  • Completion of a relevant apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of rail vehicle systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.

Required professional experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in rail vehicle maintenance or a related field.
  • Experience with rail vehicle systems and components.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.

Technical and/or practical knowledge valued

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Pay

The wage range for this role is $30.00/hr to $40.00/hr, taking into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

Schedule

Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
