Rail Service Technician
Competencies
The mission of the Rail Services Technician position is to support the design, manufacture, maintenance, and supply of equipment and components for integrated transport systems.
Functions and responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks on rail vehicles and related equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to rail vehicle systems and components.
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records.
Training required
- Completion of a relevant apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of rail vehicle systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
Required professional experience
- At least 2 years of experience in rail vehicle maintenance or a related field.
- Experience with rail vehicle systems and components.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Technical and/or practical knowledge valued
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Pay
The wage range for this role is $30.00/hr to $40.00/hr, taking into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
Schedule
Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
