Rail Load Out Operator

Responsibilities

• Match loading schedule to bill of lading
• Fill out daily loading records
• Ensure railcar is positioned and secured at proper loading location
• Visually inspect railcar to ensure it is mechanically sound and free of defective equipment before loading
• Connect loading arm/hose
• Check vessel for last product contained
• Load railcar according to instructions using loading scales and step-by-step procedures
• Disconnect loading arm/hose, inspect for leaks, and complete required paperwork prior to releasing railcar
• Effectively communicate equipment deficiencies to team members and management
• Follow written and verbal instructions with meticulous attention to detail
• Ensure workers adhere to local, state, and federal codes and regulations
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in railcar/track duties preferred
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job requirements
• Ability to work well in high places in excess of 80 feet, use man lifts, and work in confined spaces
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, and grasp
• Ability to work outside in environmental conditions
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly
