About the role

We have an opportunity for a full-time Radiology Technologist in our OrthoCarolina Matthews office. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.
  • Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations; provides patient with radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
  • Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges, and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  • Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department.
  • Complies with all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures.
  • Assists with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department.
  • Assists with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
  • Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.
  • Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or ARRT registry eligible.
  • Current CPR certification recommended.

Skills

  • Ability to operate various manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment (e.g., Siemens, GE, Philips).
  • Proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.
  • Identifies equipment problems and corrects or notifies supervisor.
  • Positions patients properly and performs quality diagnostic radiographs.
  • Observes safety and security procedures.
