Radiology Technologist II - CT/XR

About the role

The Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients' service on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area/department's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide radiographic/Sonographic examination of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation.
• Exercise professional judgement in performance of procedures applying principles of radiation protection.
• Perform diagnostic medical radiography/sonography within department and other areas.
• Maintain patient records and files.
• Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance program.
• Transfer patient to and from radiology.
• In absence of supervisor, assume responsibility of department.
• Rotate shifts as required.
• Perform ancillary duties as requested by supervisor.
• Follow policies and procedures as set up by SEARHC Administration.
• Aid in general hygiene of department and self.
• Work well in situations of stress.
• Be willing to able to take call and report to work within 20 minutes.
• Be willing to learn other imaging modalities as Manager sees fit.
• Be able and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform mammography tasks such as breast needle localization, specimen radiography, quality control, screening, diagnostic, stereotactic breast biopsy, and actively pursue five CEU’s Mammography credits per year.
• Perform ultrasonography tasks such as performing all requested exams for diagnostic interpretation by a radiologist, pursuing RDMS certification, and participating in policy and procedure preparation.
• Perform interventional procedures such as care of equipment, record maintenance, assisting with invasive procedures, conversing with referring physicians, performing venipuncture, and following standard precautions.
• Perform CT procedures such as changing contrast levels per age group, setting up and running automatic injector, familiarizing with contraindications of contract, and assisting with supply inventory and ordering.
• Perform lead technologist duties such as reviewing, editing, correcting, and validating PACS, assigning daily staffing schedules, responding to staff concerns, assisting in hiring staff, coordinating new staff orientation, and serving as an expert resource for staff.

Qualifications

• Current ARRT in Radiography OR Current ARDMS in one category (i.e., ARRT general radiography or ARDMS one category)
• BLS certification required within 45 days of start
• Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Able to perform all diagnostic exams as related to assigned modality

Pay

Pay Range: $38.93 - $54.76

Schedule

Travel may be required to provide services to various SEARHC sites.
