Radiology Technologist II (Acute)

PRN position in the GCM Imaging Float Pool serving the Charlotte region at Novant Health.

Responsibilities

• Works independently and/or assists physicians/APCs in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating x-ray equipment to obtain diagnostic images in the acute setting.
• Responsible for inpatient and outpatient procedures, emergency room, fluoroscopy, portable imaging, and operating room coverage.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiography Program. Certification required within 6 months of hire post-graduation from an accredited Radiology Program. 2‑Year/Associate Degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year experience in diagnostic radiology preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: ARRT certification in Radiography – RT(R) required. Applicable state licensure required. Post‑graduates from an accredited Radiology Program must pass the ARRT registry within 6 months of program completion.
• Additional Skills/Requirements:
  • Applies principles of ALARA to minimize radiation exposure to patient, self, and others.
  • Demonstrates current knowledge of federal and state radiation safety laws.
  • Properly utilizes personnel monitoring devices.
  • Ensures proper equipment performance and schedules maintenance for emergent needs.
  • Properly operates radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Independently performs radiographic and non‑interpretive fluoroscopic procedures, including intraoperative and mobile procedures, as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Assists a licensed practitioner in the performance of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, including all intraoperative and mobile procedures such as ERCP, bronchoscopy, mini‑C‑arms, and post‑reduction imaging.
  • Performs mobile imaging including lines, pacers, and neonates.
