About the role

As a Radiology Technician at Wilson Medical Center, you will be part of a team dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of the community. Your responsibilities include performing various imaging procedures, preparing and administering contrast media and medications, monitoring patient conditions, and analyzing and resolving image quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Reviews patient history and physician’s orders.
  • Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure their understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Maintains patient safety by monitoring conditions continually and reporting/responding to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Program in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • (NC) State Radiation Operators License or Temporary (NC) State Radiation Operators license.
  • ARRT certification within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
