Job Summary

Join Des Moines Orthopaedic Surgeons, P.C. as a Radiology Technologist in our Des Moines office. No call or weekend coverage. Responsibilities include obtaining x-ray images, preparing patients, operating the x-ray machine, reviewing images, and supporting the care team.

About the Role

This position supports the Des Moines office with hours of operation Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM. The role involves being on your feet most of the day, greeting and preparing patients, operating the x-ray machine, and communicating with patients to ensure their comfort and understanding of their care.

Responsibilities

• Obtain x-ray images to ensure patient care is appropriate for their orthopaedic injury or concern.
• Prepare patients for their x-ray exams.
• Operate the x-ray machine to capture high-quality images.
• Review images and make necessary adjustments before sending them to the physician.
• Communicate with patients to provide reassurance and answer their questions.
• Work closely with the care team to provide patient care.

Requirements

• A Permit to Practice in the state of Iowa as a Radiology Technologist.
• An active ARRT certification.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of communication and patient reassurance.
• Ability to listen and avoid interrupting patients.
• Independence and focus.
