Radiology Technologist

About the Role

Under the direction of the Radiologist, Radiology Manager, Assistant Manager, or Chief Technologist, the technologist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring minimal supervision. This role involves a variety of technical procedures that demand independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The technologist must understand and effectively meet the needs of diverse patient populations, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, relative to their growth, assessment, and development.

This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Perform all routine diagnostic procedures independently, including but not limited to: routine radiographs, fluoroscopy, OR procedures, trauma cases, portable radiographs, and limited specials such as Myelograms, Venograms, and ERCPs.
• Assume responsibility for performance in designated areas or procedures as required.
• Participate in on-call rotations with a requirement to arrive at the hospital within a 30-minute response time.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a fully accredited training program (accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a similar, nationally recognized accrediting agency) in the pertinent modality.
• Valid registration/certification by a nationally recognized accrediting agency in the specific modality for which hired—or registry-eligible, with certification obtained within four (4) months of hire date.
• After one year of satisfactory performance, reclassification to the Imaging Technologist classification will occur, provided modality-specific advanced level registry is obtained within twelve (12) months of hire date.
• A single three (3) month extension may be granted at management’s discretion if certification is not obtained within the specified time-frame. Failure to obtain valid certification will result in immediate termination.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.
• Registry or certification through one of the following:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RG ARRT, CT ARRT, CT CATTECH, CT MMRT, CT MRITECH, CT XRT)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CT NMT)
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RG ARDMS)

Pay

$44.85 - $44.85 per hour
