Radiology Technician - Orthopedics and Sports Medicine

Responsibilities

• Performs appropriate diagnostic radiographic exams.
• Accurately identifies and labels radiographs.
• Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic exams.
• Provides radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods and sound professional ethics.
• Adheres to established quality standards and performs equipment quality assurance tests as directed.
• Affirms data reflective of the patient’s status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment.
• Aids in clinical direction and evaluation of student technologists.
• Properly lifts and transports patients as needed.
• Accurately completes payroll on a daily basis.
• Adheres to department rules and standards for attendance.
• Respects and maintains confidentiality.

Requirements

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiologic technology.
• Certification or registry eligible from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or other accepted accrediting bodies.
• Must be CPR certified within one year of employment.
