What You’ll Do
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
- Positions patients to produce a radiograph as prescribed by a qualified physician.
- Provides immobilization devices as required.
- Adjusts controls of equipment as needed to produce a radiograph as prescribed by a qualified physician.
- Administers drugs or chemical mixtures orally or as enemas to render organs opaque.
- Provides radiation protection as needed per exam.
- Processes films by either automatic or hand processing.
- Transports patients to and from patients waiting area and/or patient rooms assuming responsibility for their safety.
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness during procedures.
- May answer phone and make appointments.
- May be requested to retrieve and file jackets.
- May purge files.
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Enrollment in an accredited Radiology Technologist program
- Current X-Ray Technician registration issued by the WA Department of Health
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach
