Shift details
Full Time, Nights: 8:00 pm - 6:30 am, rotating weekends/holidays (4-shifts per week)
Responsibilities
- Supervises the work of Radiologic Technologists 1 and 2.
- Captures and logs daily activities.
- Schedules technologists and coordinates their schedules.
- Trains new technologists according to department protocol.
- Assists staff with in-service training.
- Teaches Radiology Residents.
- Coordinates daily assignments with medical staff.
- Supervises Dark-room, Medical Surgical Attendant, and/or Clerical Staff.
- Assists technologists with more difficult processes or patients.
- Evaluates technical quality of results and resolves technical or administrative issues.
- Orders supplies and maintains inventory.
- Detects and initiates repairs for equipment problems.
- Approves leave of subordinate staff.
- Counsels technologists on work-related matters.
- Recommends promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
- Provides clinical instruction and evaluation for Radiologic Technology students.
- Evaluates subordinate technologists' work performance.
- Participates in or acts as a committee member of the Quality Assurance Program.
- Processes timecards for department coordinator of payroll processing.
- Performs diagnostic studies in the absence of a staff technologist.
- Maintains safety standards particular to the age-specific needs of the patient.
- Uses and supervises the use of the H.I.S. Computer system.
- Implements new diagnostic studies into the system for scheduling and billing.
- Initiates all bids and forwards written recommendations for purchases.
- Complies with all safety rules and regulations, departmental, and hospital rules and protocols for all procedures.
- Must be certified in CPR.
- Must possess and maintain understanding of the principles of growth and development as they pertain to patients in all age groups.
- Must assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information needed to identify the patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs.
- Must demonstrate behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Expertise).
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Radiology Technology required.
- Valid Florida state license as a Radiology Technologist required.
- Employees hired BEFORE 2/1/2017 must obtain the required ARRT Certification by 12/31/2019.
- New hires with external training must have the required certification at the time of hire.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers with at least 6 months validity required.
- Unit Specific Credential: FL-BLS.
