Job Description
The Radiology Student Tech performs technical procedures involving ionizing radiation, preparing equipment, developing films, and organizing patient rooms and supplies. The position is divided into two levels based on clinical competencies completed in their respective radiology programs.
Responsibilities
- Transports and monitors patients as necessary.
- Performs x-rays unsupervised (including fluoroscopy and surgery) after completing required clinical competencies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Enrolled in a CAHEA-accredited radiology program or equivalent.
- Radiology Student Tech II must have completed 12 months of the CAHEA radiological technologist program.
- BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
- Previous clinical rotation experience required.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and varying shifts.
- Physical demands include moderate activity, sitting, moving about the office and facility, and traveling within the SRHS service area.
- Mental demands involve keen mental faculties, assessment and decision-making abilities, and superior communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations are essential.
