About the role
The Radiology Scheduling Specialist coordinates seamless care delivery for patients under the supervision of the Patient Contact Center Supervisor. They assist with scheduling radiology exams and procedures, obtain prior authorizations, and collaborate with various departments.
Responsibilities
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain or verify medical authorization.
- Scan authorization information into the EHR and document in the patient's chart.
- Gather pertinent information from EHR or clinical team to complete scheduling and authorization processes.
- Communicate with patients about scheduling and authorization status.
- Monitor EHR notifications and track order information throughout the day.
- Provide leadership with weekly reporting information.
- Respond to provider inquiries and concerns regarding scheduling and authorization.
- Follow radiology scheduling protocols and ensure orders are approved by technologists before scheduling.
- Schedule patients efficiently and communicate with departmental staff and management.
- Notify providers when patients cancel, decline, or cannot be reached.
Requirements
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least one year of experience in a clinical setting is required.
- Three years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Able to treat patients, providers, and co-workers with dignity and respect.
- Knowledge of medical clinic purpose and operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, telephone manners, and proper telephone etiquette.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and various insurance plans.
- Skills in using medical databases and CPSI-EHR systems.
- Proficient in using computer software including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.

Benefits
Positions eligible for additional compensation include:
- NOC Shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM): +$3.50/hour.
- Weekend Shift (12:00 AM Saturday–11:59 PM Sunday): +$3.00/hour.
Pay
Compensation is based on experience, with a range reflecting entry-level candidates through those with 15+ years of experience. Eligible positions may also qualify for additional compensation with applicable shift, weekend, certification, or other differentials.
Schedule
Shifts available include:
- NOC Shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM): +$3.50/hour.
- Weekend Shift (12:00 AM Saturday–11:59 PM Sunday): +$3.00/hour.
