Duties/Responsibilities

• Delivers or provides a continued level of quality nursing care.
• Reports directly to the Nursing Department and to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging in respect to DI issues.
• Collaborates with respect to the implementation of orders as they are related to direct patient care.
• Gathers and assures a patient assessment and plan of care is in place.
• Provides direct patient care as specified by nursing directives or indications of treatments specified.
• Informs and prepares patients for special procedure exams or other exams as specified in department policies or procedures.
• Aware of schedules to ensure there is a nurse provider for the needs of all patients in Diagnostic Imaging.
• Assists with patient difficulties post contrast material or media injections.
• Responds to and orchestrates contrast reaction procedures.
• Administers medications as determined necessary by the radiologist, ensuring proper pre-medication history has been obtained, documented, and related to the radiologist.
• Performs urinary catheterization when necessary.
• Performs patient preparation procedures when necessary.
• Applies or changes dressings or special appliances required.
• Maintains the ability and familiarity in the performance of the use of all special hospital equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps, pacemakers, oxygen equipment, respirators, etc.
• Reports the need of repairs or preventive maintenance to the director of Diagnostic Imaging.
• Maintains cleanliness of equipment by following hospital policy.

Qualifications

• Experience as an ICU/CCU or Emergency Room Nurse.
• Experience as a radiology nurse in a similar setting is preferred.
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN Massachusetts License.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS.

$37.14 - $82.22 per hour

Schedule

24 hours per week; Day Shift 7:30am-4:00pm; Rotating weekends possible holidays
