Radiology Nurse Specialist - Full-Time

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Radiology Administrator and/or radiologist(s), a registered professional nurse is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient in the radiology department. The scope of duties includes any assistance necessary to enhance or promote the goal of creating high-quality diagnostic images. All standard nursing practices and principles are applied, including pharmacology, patient assessment, and procedure documentation.

The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. They must interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provide the necessary care as described in the unit's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and/or indirect patient care in the radiology department.
• Assist in creating high-quality diagnostic images through standard nursing practices.
• Perform patient assessments and document procedures.
• Apply principles of pharmacology in patient care.
• Assess and interpret patient data to meet age-specific needs.
• Demonstrate competency through direct observation, skills lab evaluation, verbal or written discussion, peer review, or self-assessment based on objective criteria.

Requirements

• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee (or multistate licensure from a compact state for non-Tennessee residents, obtained within three months of hire).
• BLS certification completed prior to starting in the unit/department and maintained thereafter.
• ACLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (required).
• At least two years of clinical nursing experience (required).
• Critical care experience (required).

Schedule: Regular full-time hours.
