Radiology Medical Assistant - Diagnostic Imaging - Per Diem

About the role

The Radiology Medical Assistant assists radiologic technologists in conducting patient exams by assisting in the clerical and non-technical and non-exposure technical aspects of the exam. The RMA supports technologists, Radiology Nurses, and radiologists in functions such as stocking rooms, aiding patients to and from exam rooms, scheduling exams in the radiology information system (Radiant), arranging and scheduling inpatients for appointments, and transporting patients to and from the radiology department. The position includes training to start IVs in some modalities.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiologic technologists with clerical and non-technical aspects of patient exams.
• Stock rooms and maintain supplies.
• Aid patients to and from exam rooms.
• Schedule exams using the Radiant radiology information system.
• Arrange and schedule inpatients for radiology appointments.
• Transport patients to and from the radiology department.
• Receive training to start IVs in certain modalities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (verification of diploma required).
• LNA or comparable medical experience preferred.
• Previous hospital or health care experience preferred.

Schedule

• Per Diem position with no set or committed hours.
• May be scheduled for a variety of shifts, including some holidays.
• Expected to meet requirements outlined in the Support Staff Bargaining Unit contract.
