Radiology/Interventional Radiology Coder

Summary

Assists the Coding Manager with the review of staff assignments for accuracy and adherence to Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines. Assists with day-to-day operations of the Physician Coding Department to ensure productivity standards are met.

What You’ll Do

• Performs daily coding assignments.
• Assists with resolving coding questions, maintaining reports.
• Answers inquiries in a timely manner.
• Provides ongoing training to new and experienced physician-based coders.
• Maintains the efficiency of coding review work queue activity.
• Maintains all EPIC physician-based work queues.
• Assists with research in regards to coding questions and denials.
• Maintains the coding follow-up work queues to identify root causes or trends in order to propose system solutions and reduce denials.
• Maintains the coding claim review edits work queue.
• Attends coding workshops and reports information to coding staff.
• Affords assistance to coding education staff with provider education.
• Affords assistance in developing training guides and procedural manuals.
• Documents workflows and ensures staff follows workflows consistently.
• Helps with the training of new staff.

What You’ll Need

• Administrative or technical background acquired through completion of 2 - 3 years of college.
• 1–2 years of previous job-related experience (3–5 years preferred).
• Computer skills: Adobe Reader, CoPath, EPIC, Ingenix Claims Manager, Kronos, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint.
• Coding Certification (CCS, CCSPB, or CPC).
• Strong communication, organization, and confidentiality skills.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $24.33 - $37.73 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
