About the role

The role involves optimizing patient experience and supporting providers by anticipating and responding to patient needs and requests of the health care team. Responsibilities include assisting technologists/physicians with related modality exams/procedures, supporting safe patient care, and coordinating patient flow.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and respond to patient needs and requests of the health care team.
  • Assist technologists/physicians with related modality exams/procedures.
  • Safeguard delivery of safe patient care and services.
  • Coordinate patient flow by scheduling inpatient exams/procedures, coordinating with the floor nurse for patient availability, arranging transportation, and assisting patients in the scan room.
  • Communicate scheduling delays or changes to relevant individuals and communicate with ordering providers on behalf of Radiologists.
  • Ensure modality rooms are properly stocked with supplies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and two years related experience.
  • Associate Degree in a healthcare or service-related field.
  • Two years related experience in an administrative/physician's office or retail/service industry.
  • Previous medical experience preferred in a hospital or clinic outpatient setting.
  • Completion of a Clinic Operations approved medical terminology course within 6 months of position start date.
  • Basic Life Support training and MRI Safety training.
  • Safe Patient Handling education.

Qualifications

  • Independent decision-making and sound judgment capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through.
  • Effective in a fast-paced team environment, managing difficult and emotional situations, remaining calm under stress, displaying empathy, and maintaining positive communication.
  • Strong keyboarding and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of insurance terminology.

Skills

Pay

$21.55 - $30.22 / hour; additional factors considered for job offers.

Schedule

Variated daytime weekday shifts between 6:30am-5pm; evening and overnight coverage as needed, approximately 1 weekend a month.
