Radiology Director

About the role

The Radiology Director at North Platte Valley Medical Center will oversee the Radiology Department, performing X-rays and CT scans, communicating departmental functions, and making recommendations for operational improvements. This role involves educating patients and families about procedures, maintaining high professional standards, and participating in various hospital functions.

Responsibilities

• Establish, review, and revise radiology policies and procedures.
• Review and be knowledgeable about equipment and instrument contracts.
• Train and encourage staff compliance with safety regulations and use of personal protective equipment.
• Train and encourage staff compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain departmental supplies and equipment.
• Participate in long-range planning for new hospital departmental services and budget development.
• Perform a variety of technical and supportive activities in a hospital setting to assist medical staff in patient care.
• Operate and calibrate x-ray equipment.
• Position patients for imaging and process images.
• Operate CR, DR, and other imaging equipment.
• Assist in diagnostics and provide patient education.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.

Requirements

• Associates Degree or Certificate in Radiology Technology and AART registration from the State of Wyoming.
• 5 years technical job experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• 2 years supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Advanced knowledge of radiologic technology.
• Supervisor duties.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate rules for safe exposure and handling of chemical and biological hazards.
• Compliance with HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations.
