The Radiology Clinical Instructor/Lead Tech provides clinical instruction for Radiologic Technology students and new employees. This position represents U of L Hospital at various job fairs and career days to assist with staff recruitment. The Radiology Clinical Instructor/Lead Tech abides by and ensures compliance with various regulatory and accrediting bodies including JCAHO and JRCERT. The role includes direct supervision of patient and staff workflow.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and monitors student clinical rotation schedules and room assignments
- Conducts and coordinates student and new employee orientation to the Radiology department
- Completes clinical performance evaluations for Rad Tech students
- Evaluates student performance
- Ensures required clinical competencies are provided and completed
- Provides continuing education opportunities to staff technologists regularly
- Displays a positive image of the department and hospital
- Achieves excellence through teamwork by enhancing communications with employees, inspiring them to live the values, share the vision and goals of University Hospital
- Ensures that the department operates within all hospital guidelines, policies and procedures
- Performs duties of a staff technologist
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- ARRT Registered
- Kentucky Radiation Operator Certificate
- BLS certification
- Previous didactic or clinical instruction preferred
