Radiology Aide

About the role
This position assists radiology technologists and radiologists with tasks including breast biopsies, ensuring proper equipment function, and providing a safe, comfortable environment for patients during imaging procedures. Patient care is required.
Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for radiology procedures, explaining the imaging process and answering questions.
- Prepare and arrange radiology equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI machines, and ultrasound devices.
- Help position patients correctly on the imaging table or in the appropriate standing/sitting position for clear, accurate images.
- Assist radiology technologists with image processing tasks, such as labeling, organizing digital images, and transferring them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Assist in transporting patients to and from the radiology department, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Keep track of supplies, including contrast agents, gowns, and other necessary items.
- Maintain accurate records of patient procedures for medical records and billing.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required; experience cannot substitute for this education.
- 0-1 year of experience in a hospital/managed care setting or radiology preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures is beneficial.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and the radiology team.
- Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and patient safety.
- Ability to lift and move patients, and stand for extended periods during procedures.

Schedule
Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Scheduled weekly hours: 16.
Pay
Pay range: $21.43 - $30.63/hour (Grade 2). Offers consider skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
