Radiologist Physician Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Assist radiologists with image-guided procedures, help set up sterile fields, positions patients, and provide hands-on support during procedures that use imaging guidance like ultrasound, CT, or X-ray.
  • Review the patient’s medical history, answer questions, obtain consent when required, and ensure the patient understands what to expect before starting the procedure.
  • Review imaging studies, identify obvious abnormalities, and discuss preliminary impressions with the supervising radiologist to support timely diagnosis and patient care.
  • Order appropriate imaging studies as allowed by state regulations and facility policy.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after radiologic procedures.
  • Enter detailed notes on procedures performed, patient responses, imaging results, and follow-up recommendations to maintain accurate and complete medical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, ideally in radiology or interventional specialties.
  • Prior experience with fluoroscopy or image-guided procedures.
  • Current Physician Assistant license issued by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC) required upon hire and maintained.
  • Must be credentialed and privileged by the HMC Medical Staff Office.
  • Certified Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) designation preferred but not required if experience aligns with scope.
  • Certified Radiology Practitioner (RPA) or Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Pay

Salary range: $150,000 - $170,000 annually.

Schedule

Shift’s Available: Days – Monday thru Friday (8:00am to 4:30pm)
