Radiologist - Independent Contractor
Advanced Radiology, SC (ARSC) is a 23-physician, partially sub-specialized radiology group with over 30 years of experience serving patients in the Midwest. Headquartered in the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities region, we staff multiple hospitals, clinics, and imaging centers across the Quad Cities, Southeast Iowa, Dubuque, Southwest Wisconsin, and surrounding areas. About the role
ARSC is seeking a General Diagnostic Radiologist to join our team as an Independent Contractor/1099 in a fully remote position. This blended role allows providers to spend 50%–60% of their time in their subspecialty, with general radiology supported through a fair coverage model. The position offers flexible schedule and shift options, making it ideal for radiologists seeking supplemental income.
The ideal candidate will read a full range of diagnostic radiology, including Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, Nuclear Medicine, and perform light interventional procedures. Mammography reading ability is preferred but not required. All candidates may read within their subspecialty. The role provides very flexible work shifts and extensive time off.
Responsibilities
- Read a full range of diagnostic radiology studies, including Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, and Nuclear Medicine
- Perform light interventional procedures
- Read mammography (preferred but not required)
- Work within subspecialty area of expertise
Schedule
- Remote daytime or evening schedule with multiple options available
- No overnight coverage required (covered 11 p.m.–7 a.m. CST by a third party)
- Mix of remote evening and weekend shifts
- Minimum of 3 shifts per month
- Equitable workload distribution for excellent work-life balance
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy
- Board certified/eligible by the American Board of Radiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology
- Fellowship training in any subspecialty preferred but not required
- MQSA certification preferred but not required
- Must hold or be eligible for Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin medical licenses

Pay
Compensation for this independent contractor (1099) role is paid on a per-shift basis at a rate of up to $4,220 per shift. Contractors are also eligible for a productivity bonus. Travel, lodging, and related expenses are covered for contractors traveling from out of state. Final terms may vary based on experience, certifications, subspecialty skill set, productivity, and the number of shifts worked.
