Radiological Technologist and Ultrasound Technician

Schedule

• Approximately 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 4 days per week
• Saturday morning (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) rotation required
• On-call rotation required (maximum 30-minute response time)

About the Role

Performs multiple imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, DEXA, and C-arm fluoroscopy, in addition to ultrasound/sonography examinations (prior ultrasound education or certification preferred).

Responsibilities

• General imaging practice and radiation safety following ALARA principles
• Adjust imaging equipment settings; determine proper voltage and exposure; position patients properly
• Understand and perform Quality Control / Quality Assurance
• Review exams and report results to ordering providers
• Perform X-ray examinations utilizing ionizing radiation
• Perform CT scans using Computerized Tomography and contrast media to produce cross-sectional anatomy images and numerical tissue density values
• Perform ultrasound procedures on adult and pediatric patients for diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiological disorders, including:
  • Abdomen
  • Limited 1st trimester OB and GYN
  • Breast
  • Small Parts
  • MSK
• Perform bone density scans (DEXA) to measure bone mineral density and calculate total body bone mineral content
• Operate C-arm during orthopedic cases, pain management procedures, or general surgical procedures as needed

Requirements

• Licensed in the State of Nebraska as a Medical Radiographer
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) certification
• ARDMS registered (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Successfully completed an accredited educational program related to CT or provide/perform documented training of CT proficiency
• Successful completion of an accredited educational program related to Ultrasound and be ARDMS registered or provide/perform documented training of competency of Ultrasound exams

Skills

• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships with staff, healthcare providers, and patients
• Capable of communicating clearly (reading, writing, and speaking) in English
• Comfortable and proficient operating and documenting within an EMR, extracting chart exam information, submitting charges, and utilizing communication systems
• Capable of reading and comprehending complex healthcare laws and regulations

Other Requirements

• Must take on-call rotation at minimum one weekday and weekend rotation (every 5-6 weekends)
• Must be able to report on-site within 30 minutes for call-backs, preferably sooner
