Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
- Exercise professional judgment to provide health care services, which include applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups.
- Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
- May need to push patient in a wheelchair.
- Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit; performing preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalating critical cases to provider as needed.
- Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to provider.
- Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
- Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment; troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed.
- Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety, and answer their questions.
- Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.
- Select proper ionizing factors by adjusting/setting radiographic controls to capture clear, high-quality diagnostic images.
- Perform routine maintenance, clean X-ray equipment, and manage necessary supplies.
- Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and log completed procedures in electronic systems and/or logbooks as required.
- Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- ARRT certification required.
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
- Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
Skills
- Positioning patients properly for the X-ray procedure required.
- Identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
- Following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
Pay
Earn up to $10K in bonuses! This position offers monthly incentive pay based on performance metrics and ongoing referral bonus opportunities.
Schedule
Starting at 208 hours annually of PTO.
