About the role

As a Radiologic Technologist & Medical Support Specialist at Concentra, you will be a vital member of our patient care team, performing routine x-ray examinations and supporting other facility needs under the direct supervision of the treating clinician. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and compassionate one-on-one patient care in a fast-paced environment, delivering quality clinical care and an excellent patient experience.

Responsibilities

Radiologic Technologist Duties

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escort them to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide instructions, and assist with positioning.
  • Explain procedures and ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during x-ray exams.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, adjusting controls for exposure time and distance per examination specifications.
  • Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient and team safety.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the Center Operations Director and ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order.
  • Follow all Radiology workflows and ensure reports correctly cross to the EMR.
  • Complete required documentation related to patient x-ray visits.
  • Maintain x-ray equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping.

Medical Assistant Duties

  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing ancillary testing (e.g., vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing, respirator fit testing).
  • Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments, including triaging emergent patients.
  • Prepare and assist with procedure setups and injury care.
  • Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by the treating clinician.
  • Dispense medications and durable medical equipment (DME) per clinician orders and state regulations.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment, medical devices, and testing processes.
  • Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
  • Notify supervisor of equipment malfunctions, supply needs, or facility issues.
  • Assist with patient flow and volume in partnership with center leadership.
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times.
  • Perform clerical tasks in front and back offices, including greeting patients, obtaining authorizations, check-in/out, and managing records.
  • Ensure accuracy in documentation and follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
  • Attend staff meetings or huddles and assist in maintaining a clean, orderly facility.
  • Complete applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology with applicable state certification.
  • Registered with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with active and valid certification.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • At least six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
  • Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state-specific preferred).
  • Prior medical office, healthcare, and/or customer service experience.

Pay

This position is eligible to earn a base compensation rate in the range of $28.31 to $44.00 hourly, depending on job-related factors such as level of experience, geographic location, and seniority.
