Responsibilities

The Radiologic Technologist & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x-ray examinations in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, and procedures, as well as applicable regulations under the direct supervision of the treating clinician. This role also supports other needed areas of the facility, ensuring efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Radiologic Technologist Duties

• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures.
• Escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide instructions, and assist with positioning.
• Explain procedures and ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during exams.
• Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images.
• Position equipment and adjust controls for exposure time and distance.
• Take x-rays following established requirements and regulations.
• Use radiation safety measures and protection devices.
• Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order and report malfunctions.
• Follow all Radiology workflows and ensure reports cross correctly to EMR.
• Maintain x-ray equipment, including calibration and QA/QC procedures.

Medical Assistant Duties

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
• Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician.
• Triage emergent patients as needed.
• Apply bandages, dressings, and splints.
• Dispense medications and DME as ordered.
• Maintain and operate medical devices and equipment.
• Assist with patient flow and volume, keeping patients informed of wait times.
• Perform clerical tasks in the front and back office.
• Ensure accuracy in documentation and follow HIPAA guidelines.
• Attend staff meetings and complete applicable training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Registered with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with active and valid certification.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• At least six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
• Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state-specific) preferred.
• Prior medical office, healthcare, and/or customer service-related experience.
