Radiologic Technologist / Ultrasound Technician

Schedule

• Weekdays – approximately 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 4 days per week
• Saturday morning (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) rotation required during weekend
• On-call rotation about once a month (maximum 30-minute response time)

About the Role

Performs multiple imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, DEXA, and C-arm fluoroscopy, in addition to ultrasound/sonography examinations (prior ultrasound education or certification preferred).

Responsibilities

• General imaging practice and radiation safety following ALARA principles
• Adjust imaging equipment settings; determine proper voltage and exposure; position patients properly
• Perform and understand Quality Control / Quality Assurance
• Review exams and report results to ordering providers
• X-ray examinations: perform diagnostic exams utilizing ionizing radiation
• CT scans: perform examinations using Computerized Tomography and contrast media to produce cross-sectional anatomy images and numerical tissue-density values
• Ultrasound examinations (preferred):
  • Perform ultrasound procedures on adult and pediatric patients for diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiological disorders
  • Procedures include abdomen, limited 1st trimester OB/GYN, breast, small parts, and musculoskeletal (MSK)
• Bone density scans (DEXA): measure bone mineral density at specific anatomical sites and calculate total body bone mineral content
• C-arm and surgical procedures: operate C-arm during orthopedic cases, pain management procedures, or general surgical procedures as needed
• Must be registered with ARRT and licensed by the State of Nebraska
• Successfully completed an accredited educational program related to CT or provide documented training of CT proficiency
• Successfully completed an accredited educational program related to ultrasound and be ARDMS registered or provide documented training of ultrasound competency

Requirements

• Licensed in the State of Nebraska as a Medical Radiographer
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) certification
• ARDMS registered (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships with staff, healthcare providers, and patients
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Comfortable and proficient operating and documenting within an EMR, extracting chart exam information, submitting charges, and utilizing communication systems
• Capable of reading and comprehending complex healthcare laws and regulations
• Must participate in on-call rotation at minimum one weekday and weekend rotation every 5–6 weekends
• Must be able to report on-site within 30 minutes for call-backs, preferably sooner
