Radiologic Technologist II

About the role

Competently performs routine and specialized radiology procedures to produce quality images for physicians and other health care providers for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease. Works independently, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or helping orient other staff to the department.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized radiologic procedures to produce diagnostic images.
• Assess patients, monitor their condition, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Adhere to privacy and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work within standardized operating procedures.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with interruptions.
• Identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established solutions.
• Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
• Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program (required prior to start date).
• One of the following certifications/licensures (required prior to start date):
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and evidence of application for CRT/DRT, or
  • CRT/DRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist from the state where work is performed), or
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
• BLS (Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider) certification (required upon hire).
• RHF (Radiology Fluoroscopy) certification (required within 180 days of hire if required at the affiliate).

Skills and Knowledge

• General knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including trauma and emergency response.
• Capable of performing routine radiographic examinations with a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical individuals.
• Well-developed time management and organizational skills to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), Laboratory (LIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), EPIC, and Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS)).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an environment with interruptions.

Schedule

Per diem/casual position with variable shift hours (8-hour shifts) and days of the week. No weekend requirements.

Pay

Pay range is $48.62 to $68.06 per hour. The compensation range may vary based on geographic location, candidate experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
