Responsibilities

  • Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of body as ordered by physicians.
  • Positions and instructs patients prior to examination, adjusts the x-ray equipment and determines proper voltage as well as current and desired exposure time for each radiograph.
  • Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
  • Prepares equipment for use as needed.
  • Prepares examination rooms for patient exams.
  • Positions patients for imaging exams.
  • Makes sure patients are safe during exams.
  • Produces diagnostic images.
  • Documents exam information.
  • Reports important information to the physician.
  • Verifies exams on PACS.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education and Work Experience: Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists â€" Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
    • Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA and HIBasic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Skills

  • Knowledge of x-ray equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to explain procedures to patients and answer their questions.
  • Attention to detail for accurate image production.
  • Good communication skills for patient interaction.

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $41.00 to $52.98. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
