About the role
We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our dynamic team at ChristianaCare - GoHealth Urgent Care. This role plays a crucial part in providing quality patient care and diagnostic support.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
- Exercise professional judgment to provide health care services, which include x-ray to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups.
- Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
- Inform technical staff of patient flow.
- Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit;
- Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to providers.
- Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
- Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed.
- Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety, and answer their questions.
- Position patients properly for the X-ray procedure required.
- Identify equipment problems and correct or notify supervisors.
- Follow infection control and radiological safety procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required.
- Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
- Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
Skills
- Positioning patients properly for the X-ray procedure required.
- Identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisors.
- Following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
Pay
This position offers monthly incentive pay based on performance metrics, hourly rate ranging from $29.50 to $40.00 depending on years of experience, ongoing referral bonus opportunities, and a generous 401(k) with company match.
Schedule
Starting at 208 hours of PTO annually.
