About the role
This position performs radiographic exams at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical exams that require independent judgment. Assumes responsibility for designated clinic areas of exams as required. Must be flexible as needs arise and possess willingness to acquire new or perform different skills while adapting to a changing environment. May be asked from time to time to float to hospital or other clinic locations.
Responsibilities
- Clean and stock x-ray exam room(s).
- Participate in holiday coverage rotation as required.
Knowledge of / Skill / Ability
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of general diagnostic radiography to include surgical, portable, and orthopedic studies.
- Appropriate oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and exercise independent judgment as needed.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, stressful environment while juggling multiple priorities.
License / Certification
- ARRT Registration and Certification.
- Current Oregon State Radiologic Technologist License.
- Current BLS required through American Heart Association.
Education and/or Experience
- Must maintain continuing education requirements as specified by the State of Oregon and ARRT.
- Preferably experience in an acute care setting, and with direct patient care in a clinic setting.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be in generally good health with the ability to use mobile radiographic equipment as needed for patient care.
- Must be able to transport patients as appropriate as well as assist in patient transfers and lifting as needed.
- Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Work is fast-paced and in a changing environment.
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology and possess verbal and clerical skills.
- Works inside; walking and standing much of the time while on duty.
- Occasional long shifts necessary.
