$28.03 - $38.75; depending on experience plus $2.25 per hour shift differential
Education
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an ARRT approved/accredited program in Radiologic Technology
Certificates/License
- Valid, current State of Iowa Permit to Practice
- ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology
- Current BCLS certification
Experience
Hospital based experience preferred.
Duties Include
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to assist in providing care appropriate to the age of the patient served (Neonate to Geriatric) within the department.
- Maintain performance in compliance with State and Federal laws, consistent with high standards of business and professional ethics.
- Follows Policies and Procedures of Hospital and Department.
- PRACTICE ALARA techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
- PRACTICE good Quality Control.
- Able to perform all types of CT exams proficiently.
- Use of contrast power injector.
- Charge imaging procedures, able to modify orders.
- Understand and use PACS systems.
- Conduct coordination of patient flow for work area or shift.
- Provide education and training to affiliated radiology technology student programs.
- Absorb patient transportation as necessary.
- Maintain effective communication with all levels of supervision and staff.
- Participate in staff meetings and in-services as required.
- Must be willing and able to take extra shifts as needed which may include night, holidays and weekends.
- Will work 1 or 2 assigned holidays (8 hour shifts).
Typical Physical Demands
- This position requires the ability to move about the facility in the care of patients and moving of equipment.
- Must be able to bend to the floor and reach overhead, balance, climb, lift, push, pull, walk, stand, crouch, twist and turn while obtaining equipment and supplies or in assisting in patient cares involving walking or positioning.
- Verbal and auditory acuity sufficient for over the telephone reporting of patient condition reports, hearing patients' verbal requests and auditory equipment alarms.
- Vision must be correctable to view computer screens and read printed information.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts and other conversations.
