Education and/or Experience

  • Highschool Diploma or GED, required
  • Current ARRT Certification, required
  • 3+ years Imaging/ARRT Experience, required

Training and Experience

Training and experience as a Medical Assistant.

Pay and Benefits

  • $36 / hour

General Position Summary

Radiology Technologist Instructor and Compliance Overseer manages all aspects of the X Ray program at the AFC Portland / Vancouver Group of clinics. The key responsibilities are divided into 3 main areas: Xray/Imaging Compliance, Radiology Technician, and Radiology Compliance.

Xray/Imaging Compliance

  • Shepherd the AFC LXMO education program & new graduates comp requirements
  • Provide technical coaching and supervision to the AFC LXMO/RT team
  • Ensure that all clinic’s X-ray manuals are up to date
  • Ensure that all X-ray staff are routinely audited for quality assurance
  • Develop and execute an ongoing internal training program for current X-ray staff

Radiology Technician

  • Perform X-Rays
  • Perform medical assisting procedures under the supervision of physician or ACP
  • Absentee support in exam rooms
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, and document all information in patient’s chart
  • Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
  • Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to Patients regarding radiology issues or questions when applicable

Radiology Compliance

  • Maintain & improve radiology compliance program
  • Examine and Edit current Radiology Manual and Standards
  • Continue education for our AFC LXMO or RT Staff
  • Increase quality standards by tracking radiology staff images
  • Keep track of current and expired radiology badges, and licenses
  • Prepare and set clinics up for success re: potential random audits

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

  • Foster the growth of the LXMO staff within AFC
  • Shepard the AFC LXMO program (teach courses & practicals) based upon the approved Syllabus from OBMI
  • Ensure follow up with the Director of the program regarding regulations & updates to the program
  • Ongoing coaching for new and existing LXMO staff
  • Manage the Radiology Technician group in AFC Portland - working very closely with the direct Clinic Managers of these individuals

Interpersonal Contacts

  • Team player who is equally comfortable working independently
  • Warm, friendly attitude with excellent patient interaction skills
  • Ability to understand medical terminology
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and dependability
  • Skilled in Office Productivity software (Google Docs)
