A full-time, non-exempt position located in Depew, NY. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a pre-employment drug test in accordance with FAA requirements. Relocation assistance is not available; remote work is not offered.

About the role

The RF (Radio Frequency) Technician performs inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and calibration of RF and electronic assemblies in an MRO environment. This role ensures repaired equipment meets quality, customer, and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul RF and electronic assemblies to component level.
  • Perform functional testing, alignment, calibration, and final acceptance testing using RF test equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment failures using schematics, technical manuals, and OEM documentation.
  • Replace defective components and perform soldering/rework in accordance with IPC and company standards.
  • Operate and maintain RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power meters.
  • Complete repair records, test reports, and maintenance documentation accurately and in accordance with quality requirements.
  • Ensure all work complies with company procedures, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve technical issues and improve repair processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to ESD and safety protocols.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and turnaround time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical training in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing RF/electronic equipment to component level.
  • Proficiency using RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, multimeters).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, soldering, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Part 145 repair station.
  • Familiarity with military, aerospace, or commercial avionics communication equipment.
  • General radio telephone FCC operator license.

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $22.00–$30.00, depending on experience.

Schedule

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
